Nick Cannon’s Kidney Failure Brought Him Closer to Mariah Carey

Proving that kidney failure ‘aint all that bad, Nick Cannon says the whole ordeal has brought him closer to his wife Mariah Carey.

We’ve all gotten to see Mariah Carey’s “diva” side, but Nick Cannon says this illness has allowed Carey to show her “nurturing” side. See, I told you she had one of those.

Nick told radio host Howard Stern, “I’m happier than happy. Especially through this entire process, we’ve become so much closer…I even got a chance to see a different side of my wife where she became so nurturing. I’m in debt to her forever.”

No seriously, he also owes her about $500 grand. I’m just kidding. I have no idea. ‘American’s Got Talent’ pays well, probably.

While vacationing over the holidays in Aspen, Colorado, Nick came down with what he thought was “acute mountain sickness,” whatever that is (sick of snow? Cold chill?) but found out his condition was much more serious.

“They thought it was kidney stones, then a kidney infection. They found out my kidneys were not functioning well. So we said, ‘mild kidney failure,’” says Nick Cannon.

Cannon is now home and feeling much better but says he better stop working so hard. He’s a DJ, a music producer, a director, the host of “America’s Got Talent” and also has his recurring role on “Up All Night.” So yeah, to say he’s busy is an understatement.

“Because of this situation, I know that I don’t need to go so hard. It’s more about just my way of living…it’s really about taking some time,” he admits.
